Garnet
History: Garnet has been long a favorite gemstone. Garnet jewelry is known from
the Scythian period(6th-4th centuries B.C.) Pliny called all red gemstones,
including garnet, carbunculi. Often cut in Bohemia in the 16th century and used
against witches spells. Garnet was believed to protect its owners from enemies,
to stimulate the imagination, and to advance the cause of love.
Healing effects: revitalizes, builds blood, regulates blood pressure, used to treat arthritis, rheumatism, also mental disorders, as well as to increase sexual potency.
